As a Responsible breeder I am committed to all our PUPPIES at RHYTDS 24/7.  We are
always available to our puppy families for support for life.
As a responsible caring breeder taking the future of these noble breeds is not taken into
lightly.  Bringing puppies into the world that would not otherwise have been born gives me
a deep feeling of responsibility for the quality of their life & certainly does not end when
they go to their new forever homes.  Every litter I produce will effect the breed as a whole,
and each litter is carefully planned with much research on the pedigree including
longevity, health and confirmation, improving the breed is my ultimate goal.  We are very
strong supporters of limited registration and spay or neuter & NEVER sell adult/puppies to
brokers or "breeders"  NO EXCEPTIONS!!  All show potential puppies are sold on
Co-Ownerships only.

My breeding program, each dog in it, and every puppy produced is very important to us and
to have healthy, long lived, companion is the #1 priority after-all even show dogs are
companions 90% of the their lives, they sleep in our beds, lie on our couches, lives with
their our family.  I breed for myself once I have chosen my "keeper" the rest of this
carefully researched & planned litter must be placed in forever homes so remember even
companions are, in essence, bred for me.  We strive to produce great ambassadors for
representation of the Great Dane or Shih Tzu.

I am a staunch believer that overall health & temperament are inherited, although, both
can be affected by environment as well as nutrition therefore we feed Canidea and
recommend it for use on all our dogs/puppies.  We health test; heart, thyroid, with OFA and
hips are done via OFA or Penn Hip each dog has all tests completed before breeding on
our Danes.

A written guarantee for certain inherited health issues is given with each RHYDTS puppy
(email if you are interested in a puppy and we will send you a
contract/agreement/gaurentee to review).
Policies
  • All puppies are raised inside our homes with our family.  We do not use outdoor kennels.  Our dogs are
    first and foremost our family pets.  All puppies are socialized with our other dogs.  They are each loved
    on, and when old enough played with every day.  

  • We do our own vaccinations to avoid exposing our puppies to sick animals, they will go home with their
    first vaccinations and Bordetella.  The Danes are de-wormed 2, 4, 6 and 8 wks.  Shih Tzu are de-wormed
    at 4, 6, 8 and 12 wks.  We recommend starting your puppy on a heart worm preventative at 3 mo of age.

  • Companion puppies are sold on limited registration No Exceptions; and are required to be
    spayed/neutered no sooner than 10 mo of age no later than 12 mo of age.  

  • Show potential puppies will be sold on a show contract and a Co-Ownership no Exceptions.  Once your
    RHYDTS puppy has finished his/her AKC Championship we will sign off on the AKC papers.  There will
    be no breeding contract involved on bitch puppies.  Although, RHYDTS does retain stud rights on males.

  • All puppies are required to be registered AKC (American Kennel Club); we do not endorse any other
    registry except the Canadian Kennel Club or United Kennel Club.  You will be supplied AKC registration
    papers.

  • All our puppies are sold as pets first and we encourage everyone to try as many venues with their dogs
    they feel comfortable.  Training is a great way to bond with your puppy even if you never obtain any titles.  
    Obedience training is a must for any puppy.  

  • Pet puppies vs Show puppies.  A bit of clarification on pet vs show.  I have many inquires on people
    wanting a show quality dog for a pet because; somehow the misconception is that a show puppy is
    going to be better.  Conformationally, yes, there is a reason we classify them as pet because it is very
    unlikely that a novice or a pet owner will be able to tell the difference between the different puppies.  I will
    try to match each puppy by personality to their new families, after all even if it is to be shown you have to
    live with it for the rest of its life.

  • $250 non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your choice of puppy.  Deposits are accepted once
    pregnancy is confirmed.  Upon receipt of deposit references will be checked.  If for any reason there isn't
    a puppy of requested sex/quality available than your deposit can be refunded or put towards a future
    litter.  If we are not completely happy with your references we will refund your deposit.  These are the only
    reasons deposits will be refunded.  

  • As the breeders of the puppies we will also do the following:  we will be available 24/7 for any and all
    questions that may come up regarding your puppy.  We will be here for the life of the puppy if for any
    reason at any time in its life you are no longer able to keep the puppy than it is to be returned to us so we
    can assure proper placement with no money being exchanged.  We will be honest and straight forward
    with any questions and/or concerns that you may have about your puppy.  Our puppy buyers are an
    extention of our family and we encourage our puppy families to send updates and pictures for the life of
    the puppy.
